Luca Marshall '27 (fourth from left) was the Division 2 Girls Champion runner up at 126lbs, and avenged her loss this weekend by defeating that opponent and capturing the MA State Championship.
Jack Disharoon '25 (fifth from left) captured the Division 2 Championship at 285lbs and followed it up with a 5th place finish at the MA State Championship.
Ms. Ferrick's Legal and Protective Services junior class participated in a mock trial, "It was the first time ever that LPS has held a mock trial in a real court and with a real judge! The students demonstrated impressive competence in their legal analysis, which required them to draw on many procedural lessons learned over our years together. This case was a civil lawsuit (fictitious) in which a young child died after ingesting products manufactured by a toy company."
Our teachers are doing great things too! Both Mr. Alden, History Teacher and Coach, and Mr. Dagan, Library Media Specialist, were recently recognized:
Mr. Alden was nominated by the family of a former student for the VFW's "Smart/Maher National Citizenship Education Teacher Award", which recognizes certified teachers for promoting citizenship education, civic responsibility, flag etiquette, and patriotism. This started out at the local level of North Attleboro's VFW post and when Mr. Alden won that he moved on to the district level; his success there has led to being a finalist for the overall Massachusetts teacher award.
The Massachusetts School Library Association announced that they had named Mr. Dagan as the 2024 recipient of the Ellen Berne Innovator Award. "The Ellen Berne Innovator Award celebrates Massachusetts School Library Association members who promote student learning through innovative library programming and making a positive impact in their school community."

While the voters of the Commonwealth elected to remove MCAS as a graduation requirement beginning with the class of 2026, students are still required to take the exams. It was left to districts to determine what would replace MCAS to establish a student's Competency Determination. In light of these changes, Tri-County's School Committee approved new Competency Determination and Graduation Requirements, as discussed in a letter sent to all families on 3/4/25. A copy of that letter is included here.

Grade 10 EEC students have been practicing for their initial CPR/First Aid/AED certification test. They will need to keep up this certification annually as a Department of EEC requirement. Pictured from left are Elizabeth Kriz, Lilliana Fox, Mia Grassi.

On Wednesday, 2/26, Engineering juniors went to New Jersey to present their prototypes at the HUNCH competition. Four teams will be moving forward to present their work at NASA in Houston in early April.
On Thursday, 2/27, 127 students completed the district Skills USA testing, hoping to qualify for the state competitions which will take place on May 2 at Blackstone Valley Technical High School.
Tri-County is hosting the Franklin Senior Center for lunch this week and next, while their facility is undergoing repairs. Our Food Truck Crew will be making lunch daily and Auto will be offering car washes and tire pressure checks daily. Vocational students and teachers have also planned the following activities for them: Fraud Squad presentation (Legal and Protective Services), Technology Q & A (Computer Information Systems), Heart Health (Health Careers and Medical Assisting), Make Your Own Dessert - Cake in a Jar (Culinary), Painting Party (Graphics), and PVC Pipe Bowling (Plumbing).
Senior Parents: We are expanding the ways in which we celebrate our seniors. Next time you are in the cafeteria, you will see our Senior Spotlight banners which recognize outstanding shop students, selected by their teachers. These are similar to the athletic banners that you see in the cafeteria for seniors. In April, we will start our "Oh the Places They'll Go" wall where seniors can hang a pennant as they commit to their post-graduate plans (i.e. employment, military, college).
A senior class trip has been scheduled for 3/25. Permission slips are due by 3/18.

TC Class of 2025 lawn signs are on sale for parents to order for $15 each. Orders can be placed via Unipay; all orders must be in by 3/31/25.
The Winter Semi-Formal is tonight from 6:30 - 9 p.m. If your student has completed the paperwork to bring a guest, please remind them that their guest must have the ID they submitted a copy of with the guest form in order to be allowed into the dance.
Tickets for the junior/senior prom go on sale on Monday, March 17. Tickets are $82 each and can be purchased at the Dean's Office via cash or check or via Unipay* (link is on the website). Ticket sales close on April 2. This is an absolute deadline as the number of attendees must be committed to the venue at this time.
