Tri-County requires all juniors to take a one-trimester elective, Career Essentials. In this course, students focus on resume writing, interview skills and work force preparedness. In another elective, Entrepreneurship, seniors recently competed in their own Shark Tank Competition with faculty and administrators serving as sharks.
The Culinary program recently hosted their very own Cupcake Wars. One cannot complain about a job that includes the opportunity to serve as a judge for this type of event in the midst of the work day!
We are proud of our sophomores who worked diligently on the ELA MCAS, even knowing that the results are no longer a graduation requirement. The data will continue to inform the district of how to tailor instructional strategies to meet student's needs. The Math MCAS is scheduled for 5/20 and 5/21 for our sophomore students.
Seniors are down to two months until graduation. A letter was emailed to all parents/guardians yesterday with important information on senior tasks over the next few months and important dates. That same letter can be accessed here.
Tri-County is scheduled for a routine Integrated Monitoring review by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education that focuses on special education student identification and special education eligibility timelines; Individualized Education Program (IEP) development; programming and support services; procedural requirements for suspensions and equal opportunity. One of the steps of this process is a survey, sent by the DESE, to parents of special education students. Parents may receive a call to participate in an interview. Please find a full description of this important initiative here, along with a version translated in Spanish and Portugese.
Course selection has been completed for all Grade 9 - 11 students. Spring Sports is now underway! Ms. Martin and our spring coaches are navigating the off-site practice and game field rotations. We thank parents/guardians in advance for their patience as we weather the changes required as field availability is impacted by weather and scheduling conflicts.
The first round of acceptance letters is mailed! We look forward to welcoming our freshmen class.
Please be aware that preschool pick-up is scheduled for Tuesday - Thursday mornings between 11 and 11:30 a.m. We ask that parents/guardians do not park in the fire lane if they are on campus to dismiss a high school student early. Additionally, please proceed carefully around the front circle during these hours as our preschoolers are being escorted out to their parents, who are waiting in the car line.
From the School Nurses and the Dean's Office: Please remind your students that they cannot carry medication of any kind on their persons or in their bag. Students with exceptions for an EpiPen, Inhaler or diabetic supplies should have communicated with the School Health Office.
